Congratulations to Lindsey Lashley, our 2nd Qtr Daisy Award Winner! Lindsey serves in our Emergency Department and always goes above and beyond for our patients! Thank you Lindsey!!

If you are not familiar with the Daisy Award: The DAISY Foundation was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 from complications of the auto immune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). During his eight-week hospital stay, his family was impressed by the care and compassion his nurses provided, not only to him but to everyone in the family. They created the DAISY Award in Patrick’s memory to recognize those nurses who make a big difference in the lives of so many people.

Our DAISY Award honorees demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and compassionate care. They are recognized as role models in our nursing community. Memorial Hospital and Manor is proud to be a DAISY Award partner and we give special recognition to our nurses who receive this honor. Each Daisy Award Honoree will be recognized at a public ceremony in their unit and will receive: a certificate, a Daisy Award Pin, flowers, and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled A Healer’s Touch. Additionally everyone in the unit will celebrate with cinnamon rolls – a favorite of Patcik’s during his illness.

Please use the Daisy Award form on our hospital’s main page to nominate a nurse that has made a difference for you, your family, or friend!
