Under the direction of an in-house Pathologist, John B. Reynolds, M.D., the Clinical Laboratory at Memorial Hospital and Manor is staffed 24-hours a day by licensed Medical Technologists, Medical Technicians, Phlebotomists and Pathology Assistants. The Laboratory offers automated and computerized testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation studies, microbiology, urinalysis, blood bank and point of care testing.
The Pathology Department offers full in-house anatomic and clinical pathology services including surgical pathology, frozen sections, and fine needle aspirates, along with pathologist consultation.
Laboratory tests are performed with a physician order in both the main laboratory at Memorial Hospital and Manor and the Satellite Lab at the Memorial Medical Center office complex. Patients should take their physician’s order to the Outpatient Registration department at the front lobby of the hospital, or to the Registration desk in the lobby of Memorial Medical Center.
The Main Laboratory at the hospital is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week., however Outpatient Services are only provided from 7a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Laboratory is closed for Outpatient Services on Sundays and major holidays. The Satellite Laboratory at Memorial Medical Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is closed for lunch from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The Memorial Hospital and Manor Laboratory provides a clinical training environment for phlebotomy, medical technician and medical technology students from Bainbridge College, Southwest Georgia Technical College and Thomas University.
