Memorial Hospital and Manor offering drive thru outpatient COVID-19 collections.
Memorial Hospital and Manor will be reopening the COVID-19 drive through beginning August 30, 2021 for the collection of symptomatic patients for COVID-19 PCR samples only due to the surge of test requests on our out-patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. The drive through will be available Monday through Friday from 1 PM to 3 PM and will be located at the front of the Hospital. There will be no drive through services offered Monday, September 6 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. A physician/provider order will be required for COVID-19 PCR testing. Please line up in the outer lane of the hospital breezeway on the date/time of operation for outside collection. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 surge and may adjust dates and times as necessary.
Preoperative patients and asymptomatic/exposure only patients needing COVID-19 PCR testing will continue to be registered & collected in the outpatient collection area inside the hospital along with any other lab work ordered on Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM. Out-patient preoperative cases for asymptomatic COVID-19 PCR testing can be collected after hours for surgery cases by contacting the lab to set up an appointment and coming inside & registering through the Emergency Room in the event the surgery should occur the next day (work-in cases).
Testing continues to be available through the local Health Department Region 8-2, 6 days a week. No order is required and testing is free. Appointments can be made by calling 229-352-6567. The COVID collection schedule is also available online at http://southwestgeorgiapublichealth.org,
