Memorial Hospital and Manor is proud to recognize First Port City Bank for its generous $150,000 contribution through the Georgia HEART Hospital Program, helping support critical upgrades to the hospital’s nurse call system in the Med Surg and Same Day Surgery units.

The nurse call system plays a vital role in patient care and safety, allowing patients to quickly communicate with nursing staff and ensuring faster response times and improved patient experience. The upgraded system will modernize communication capabilities and enhance care delivery for both patients and staff.

“At First Port City Bank, we are proud to be a true community bank, and we believe strongly in giving back to the communities we serve,” said Scott Ewing. “By supporting the Georgia HEART Hospital Program, we are helping strengthen and protect the future of local healthcare in Bainbridge. Access to quality healthcare is vital for our families, businesses, and community, and we are honored to play a small part in helping ensure those services remain available close to home.”

Memorial Hospital and Manor CEO [CEO NAME] praised the bank for its leadership and commitment to local healthcare.

“We are incredibly grateful to First Port City Bank for not only supporting Memorial Hospital and Manor through the Georgia HEART program, but for intentionally choosing to invest in a project that will directly impact patient care and safety,” said [CEO NAME]. “Their commitment to our community is evident in everything they do, and partnerships like this help ensure we can continue providing high-quality healthcare close to home. We appreciate every contribution we receive through Georgia HEART, regardless of the size, because every dollar truly makes a difference for our hospital and our patients.”

The Georgia HEART Hospital Program allows Georgia taxpayers to redirect a portion of their state income tax dollars to support rural hospitals like Memorial Hospital and Manor — meaning taxpayers can have a direct voice in keeping their tax dollars working locally.

Thanks to the generosity of businesses and individuals across the community, Memorial Hospital and Manor raised just under $2.5 million through the Georgia HEART program in 2025. Hospital leaders hope to reach the full $4 million program cap this year to continue funding important projects and equipment upgrades that benefit local patients.
