James “Jim” Lambert took the helm Monday, November 27th as MHM’s new Chief Executive Officer, .
“Physicians, Executive staff, and board members are united in recognizing that Jim’s skills and demeanor make him the best choice to lead Memorial Hospital and Manor,” said Authority Chairperson Glennie Bench. “Jim brings prior experience capably leading healthcare organizations as well as the vision, strategic acumen, and drive that will elevate Memorial’s healthcare services to new heights.”
The Hospital Authority utilized the services of Witt/Kieffer to conduct a nationwide search for the new CEO. From candidates vetted by the firm, the Authority conducted two rounds of interviews, the last of which included input from physicians, community leaders, and staff, as well as all of the Authority members.
Lambert served most recently as President of the Arkansas Health Alliance, a joint venture formed by CHI St. Vincent Health System and Conway Regional Health System to bring value to both organizations and the communities they serve. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Conway Regional Health System in Conway, Arkansas, where he also previously worked as Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure Conway Regional Health System earned the Arkansas Governor’s Quality Award in 2014 and received “Best in State” ratings by Healthgrades and Carechex.
In addition to the above experience, the Hospital Authority found several of Jim’s accomplishments to be particularly applicable to Bainbridge and Decatur County. These include Lambert’s track record of improving employee satisfaction and engagement, fund raising for capital projects, adding new service lines, and focusing on quality care and financial stability.
Lambert holds a Master’s Degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California San Diego in La Jolla, CA. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a former Rotarian. He enjoys tennis, golf, and backpacking.
Bench stated, “The Hospital Authority was eager to begin working with Mr. Lambert and will support him in making our hospital the best rural hospital in Georgia. We are confident he can lead us to meet that goal.”
