Ja’Myah Perkins first student awarded Marvalynn Carroll Honorary Scholarship

Congratulations to Ja’Myah Perkins for being our first student awarded the Marvalynn Carroll Honorary Scholarship, which is generously funded by First Port City Bank. Ja’Myah is a graduate of Grace Christian Academy and attended Fort Valley State and studied pre-nursing. She is now attending ABAC and is pursuing her BSN. Ja’Myah plans to become a Labor and Delivery nurse and we are excited to have her come back and support her home town community! She stated in her application essay that “I understand how badly our community needs compassionate, skilled healthcare professionals, especially in maternal care. Georgia continues to face some of the highest mortality rates in the country. I want to be a part of the solution. I want to serve locally, give back to the people who raised me, and be a nurse who truly makes an impact in our community hospitals.” She added that “this scholarship wouldn’t just be financial aid but a symbol of belief in my dream.”
Please help me congratulating Ja’Myah for this scholarship and honor. We also want to thank her for going into such an important field and having the passion to return home and make a difference! We look forward to having you join our team!
