
Description
The staff Occupational Therapy Assistant treats patients under the established Occupational Therapy plan of care from the referring physician and evaluating Occupational Therapist. Through the direct patient care activities using therapeutic procedures and assistive devices (intended to maximize functional potentials in all area of patient’s life), the COTA is an integral part of the rehab team. The COTA can only provide treatment that is specific to the guidelines of the established plan of care and functions in accordance with their State Practice Act, as applicable, while under the supervision of the licensed Occupational Therapist as outlined.
Qualifications
Licensed to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by State of Georgia.
Experience
Practice experience with adult and pediatric population; prefer practice experience in long term care rehab, hospital and outpatient OT services.
