Amelia Medical Plaza has earned national recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for Patient-Centered Care for using evidence-based, patient centered processes that focus on highly coordinated care and long-term, participative relationships. NCQA’s President Margaret E. O’Kane said, “Recognition shows that Amelia Medical Plaza has the tools, systems, and resources to provide its patients with the right care, at the right time.” To earn recognition, which is valid for three years, AMP providers Dr. Shawn Surratt, Dr. Gloria Browne, Angie Tyus, FNP, Beth Hollis, FNP, Karren Elliott, FNP, and Kyle Kelley, FNP demonstrated the ability to meet the program’s key elements, embodying characteristics of the medical home. The MHM family echoes the sentiment of Medical Director, Dr. Dean Burke who said, “We are excited about this announcement because the staff and medical providers at Amelia Medical Plaza have worked extremely hard during this process to meet the extremely high NCQH Standard.” Congratulations and thank you to all who have supported this effort.
